Important Info Regarding Graduation 2010 - After years of crowded graduation ceremonies, the class of 2010 will be moving to a ticketing system. Each senior who qualifies for graduation will receive (5) five tickets for the ceremony. These may be distributed at the descretion of the graduate. Additional seating will be available in the auditorium where the ceremony can be seen via a live video feed. Auditorium seats do not require attendees to have a ticket and will be on a first-come first-served basis. Please continue to check the WHS Website for further information regarding graduation and the end of the school year activities. Tickets must be presented at the door in order to enter the gymnasium. These tickets are for general admission; therefore, they are not for an assigned seat. Graduation tickets will be distributed to qualifying seniors in late May. We are currently working on a process that would allow students wo are not using all of their tickets to return them to the kiosk. Other graduates in need of additional tickets would then be put on a waiting list and eventually be granted additional tickets as they become available. Please understand that this will not guarantee anyone additional tickets; rather, it will provide a way to inquire about extra tickets. The specifics of this process will be described in more detail after Spring Break.

Westfield High School is destined for amazing things in 2009-2010. The gifts and talents of our students combined with the dedication and passion of our teachers allows us to follow the path of excellence. Excellence is not the result of a good intention or clever slogan. It is not a vague value that is easily achieved. It comes from a strong, urgent desire to improve how we do things when we see something we can do better. While we celebrate our past success (National Merit Finalists, the highest graduation rate in the county, over 3 million dollars awarded to the class of 2009 and conference, sectional and state athletic championships), we know that we can be even better this year. We are working hard to ensure that Westfield High School will be recognized as a top performing school in academics, athletics and student activities. It has been said that: “Tentative efforts lead to tentative outcomes. Therefore give yourself fully to your endeavors. The trials you encounter will introduce you to your strengths. Remain steadfast. . .and one day you will build something worthy of your potential.” As we strive for excellence, we will not be tentative.
Westfield High School is a great place to be. I believe that strong community-school relationships are essential to high academic, extra-curricular and athletic achievement. Find any successful school and you will also find parents and community members that are involved and supportive of the school. This community recognizes the value of educational, athletic and extracurricular activities. Therefore, Westfield High School expects our students to excel both inside and outside of the classroom.
